The performance is composed. The experience remains alive.
Sam Cutri’s sound art practice brings three decades of composition, production and performance into spaces designed for deep listening. Each work combines musical structure with the living conditions of the room, the audience and the moment.
Voice, guitar, percussion, electronics, harmonic resonance and spatial movement become more than musical materials. They shape attention, physical sensation, emotional movement and the shared experience of listening.

Experience
A continuing body of immersive sound works for live and digital audiences.
The Soundful Experience is the current expression of Sam’s practice, bringing composition, psychoacoustics, embodied attention, community facilitation and live performance into one evolving form.
Works unfold across intimate rooms, performance spaces, festivals, sporting environments and international online gatherings. The scale changes. The central enquiry does not: what becomes possible when people are given time, sound and permission to listen deeply?

Structures for

Created for an aerial movement setting, the work explores resonance as a meeting between sound, physical suspension, breath and attention.

Three movements explore mind and body, feminine and masculine, then union. Bilateral movement and harmonic relationships create a gradual return to centre.

Grounding, initiation, descent, release and integration form a performance arc in which tension is not erased, but listened through.

Subtle shifts between sound and silence invite listeners toward quiet emotion, inner movement and a more present state of awareness.

Harmonic
Reckoning
A major new multidisciplinary performance work exploring how sound can carry lived experience, change, grief, love, identity, belonging and relational healing. At its centre is the difficult and necessary practice of listening across difference.

A natural progression
Harmonic Reckoning grows directly from Sam’s life and work across recorded music, electronic performance, screen composition, cultural storytelling, public events, remote communities, education and immersive sound. These are not separate career chapters being assembled for one project. They are the foundation of an artistic language developed across three decades.
The work taking shape
Community voices, musicians, visual and digital artists, cultural advisors, psychoacoustic composition, spatial sound and responsive image will be brought into a shared performance environment. Listening comes first. Stories and voices will only enter the work through appropriate relationships, cultural authority, permission and attribution.
Emerging from The Soundful Experience and Sam’s wider cultural practice, the work asks how the lived experiences people carry, including grief, change, love, loss, identity, memory, responsibility and belonging, can enter a shared space without being simplified or resolved. It explores what becomes possible when people listen beyond certainty, defence and difference. It is a new work, but not a new direction. It is where the life’s work converges.
